Bay Horse

The Bay Horse refers to the use of horses in fox hunting, bay being a colour of horses.

Three Legs 2003 Copyright: Wetherby Historical Trust. At some point The Bay Horse may have been next door

The Bay Horse was located in the Market Place, next to the Three Legs, which is now the Bar THREE.

The following is an extract from the Wetherby News Almanack concerning public houses -“The Bay Horse was next to the Three Legs.”

However in another, undated, Wetherby News “Down Memory Lane” article it states that ‘There was The Bay Horse in Westgate and at the head of Bank Street still stands the New Inn.”

The Bay Horse does not appear in any Wetherby directory so it may not have lasted long in our town.
